Mysore/Mysuru: A total of six candidates have filed their nomination papers so far for the Legislative Council polls from South Graduates Constituency scheduled to take place on June 13. The Constituency comprises four districts — Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagar.
While BJP candidate M.V. Ravishankar filed his papers on the first day of nomination on May 19, N.S. Vinay filed nomination as an independent candidate and H.K. Ramu as JD(S) candidate on May 20.
Those who filed their nominations yesterday (May 23) are: Rafathullah Khan of SDPI, C. Kavyashri of Maddur taluk in Mandya district and M. Mahesh of Yelandur taluk in Chamarajanagar district as independent candidates.
The last day for filing of nomination papers in May 26 and scrutiny of nominations will take place on May 27.
Last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 30. Voting will take place on June 13 from 8 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will be taken up on June 15 and results will be announced the same day.
