Mysore/Mysuru: With the Jumboo Savari just four days away, District Minister S.T. Somashekar inspected the ongoing works on the making of Dasara Tableaux at the Exhibition Grounds here yesterday. The procession, marking the culmination of the Nada Habba, will take place inside the Palace premises on Oct.15.
The Minister also discussed with the artisans on the characteristics of each of the six tableaux of different Departments, featuring Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, COVID-free Karnataka, Multi-storeyed Housing Complexes, Aanebandi, Integrated Farming and Ecology & Environment Conservation.
Speaking to press persons, Somashekar said that the works on all the six tableaux will be completed by Oct.13. Pointing out that tableaux and folk troupes will be part of the procession, Somashekar clarified that non-official members have not been appointed for Dasara Committees this time.
MLA L. Nagendra, MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, Jungle Lodges and Resorts (JLR) Chairman M. Appanna, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham, ZP CEO A.M. Yogesh and other officials accompanied the Minister.
‘COVID Mardini’
COVID-free Karnataka tableau under the title ‘Mahishasura Mardini’ features a lady doctor killing the Coronavirus with the vaccine. This tableaux is being made by the Health and Family Welfare Department at a cost of Rs.7.5 lakh, while the tableuax on Integrated Farming is created jointly by Agriculture and Horticulture Departments at a cost of Rs. 8 lakh. Likewise, the Tableaux Sub-Committee is making three more tableaux — Ecology & Environment Conservation and Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav at a cost of Rs.7 lakh each and Aanebandi Tableau at a cost of Rs.4 lakh while MUDA is making its tableaux on Multi-Storeyed Housing Complexes at a cost of Rs.8 lakh.
