‘Skilled Human Resource essential for country’s growth’

Mysuru: Our country has been witnessing progress in every field with a need for skilled human resource in respective fields, said U.R. Rao Satellite Centre Scientist Dr. Raghavendra B. Kulkarni, here recently.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 2nd Convocation of JSS Polytechnic and Teachers Day celebrations at JSS Technical Institutions campus in city.

“Dedication is the most for any student to grow in their respective field of interest. Students should get into higher studies to help in the growth of the country. ISRO has been able to grow as one of the top space institutes in the world because of the dedication and efforts by the scientists over the past decades. Students of science and technology must have the thirst to study the latest innovations to gain more knowledge,” he added.

Calling upon students to contribute for country’s growth as young scientists, Dr. Raghavendra said it was important for the students to have knowledge within and outside the syllabus.

During the convocation, 14 meritorious students including C.V. Ujawal, G. Kushal Jain, Manjunathraje Urs, Arfan Mohammed Shariff, B.M. Darshan, C.P. Srujan, Atish Devi Prakash Alva who secured first rank, G. Manjunath, Ahmed Ali Khan, R. Manjunath, M.R. Ramesh, Jonathan Victor, S. Rakshitkumar and K. Kumar Arun were awarded the certificates and medals.

A total of 223 students had appeared for the examination during the 2023-24 academic year out of which 93 secured distinction with 14 students securing the first and second rank respectively. JSS Mahavidyapeeta (Collegiate Education) Assistant Director B. Niranjanamurthy, S. Manjula, Prof. K.S. Bhaktavatsala, A.S. Nagaraj, Roopa, Shruthi and Tejaswini were present on the occasion.
