SMT Hospital gets latest Scanning Machine

Mysore/Mysuru: The newly renovated SMT (Seth Mohandas Tulasidas) Maternity Hospital on JLB road has got a new scanning machine.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. K.H. Prasad, who  dedicated the latest machine for service recently, said that the infrastructure at SMT Maternity Hospital is being developed in stages and the new scanning machine is the latest addition.

Pointing out that a perfect scan is key for the health of both the pregnant women and foetus, he said that the new machine will hugely benefit women in maintaining health.

Pointing out that K.R. MLA S.A. Ramdas had sought special funds for improving the Hospital’s infrastructure, Dr. Prasad said that the new scanning machine  costs Rs.14 lakh and would be used for scanning of pregnant women. He appealed the womenfolk to make use of this facility by advance registration.

The SMT Hospital is a 100-bed Hospital and is capable of conducting  15,000 child births a year.

Corporator Pallavi Begum, Hospital Administrative Officer Dr. Srinath, faculty Dr. Somashekar, Dr. Kumuda, Dr. Indushekar, Raksha Samithi members P.T. Krishna, A. Santosh, Shivappa and Hospital staff were present.
