Mysuru: Many social service activities, organised under the aegis of V. Sreenivasa Prasad Abhimanigala Balaga, marked the 71st birthday celebration of former Minister and senior BJP leader V. Sreenivasa Prasad in city this morning.
The members of the Balaga, presented a cheque of Rs. 1,000 each to 20 dialysis patients and distributed fruits to them at Kamakshi hospital in Saraswathipuram.
Hospital’s Dr. Mahesh Shenoy and Dr. K.R.Kamath, Nanjangud MLA B. Harshavardhan, who is also the son-in-law of Sreenivasa Prasad, Ex-MLC C. Ramesh, former MP Kagalawadi Shivanna, BJP leaders Thotadappa Basavaraju, C. Basavegowda and others were present.
In other events, Sreenivasa Prasad cut a cake in the presence of children at Chayadevi Anathashrama at Chikkaharadanahalli in Jayanagar.
The children were provided breakfast in the morning and lunch in the afternoon.
Sweets were distributed to students of Girls High School, Siddartha High School, Ashoka High School and Government Higher Primary School, all in Ashokapuram.
Balaga President P. Nandakumar,office-bearers Dr. Mullur Nanjundaswamy, Venkataraju and others were present.
