Mysuru: Former Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission and Advocate Manjula Manasa has said that one can gain self-satisfaction by involving in social service.
She was speaking after inaugurating ‘Samarpana Educational and Endowment Trust’ at the Chayadevi Orphanage here on Jan.28. She said that birth and death is a natural phenomenon and our achievement during our life time is more important than the number of years we have lived. She said, besides Government’s efforts to provide education to the downtrodden and economically backward students, social and educational institutions should also come forward to provide education and housing to them as part their social obligation and responsibilities.
D.S. Venkatesh Murthy, retired Head Master and Trust President, who presided, said that everyone should adopt the principle of education through service and service through education so that society becomes stronger.
He said that the Trust would strive hard to achieve the social commitment obligations.
M.S. Bharati, Programme Executive, All India Radio, Mysuru Station, who also spoke on the occasion, said that the Government was giving more importance to women in the field of education and all girl students should make use of it.
Trust Vice-President Padma Venkatesh, Hon.Secretary M.S. Balasubramanyam, Treasurer Rajendraprasad Honnalagere, Srikanth and Shakti were present. Fruits and sweets were distributed to the children of Chayadevi Orphanage on the occasion.
