Mysuru: The valedictory of Somani Sambhram – 2018 cultural and sports activities was held at Basudev Somani College here recently.
Prof. J. Somashekar, Registrar (Evaluation), University of Mysore, who was the chief guest, said nowadays life has become too mechanical and complex due to intervention of mobile technology. He also hoped that the teaching fraternity should focus on infusing intellectual spirit among students.
Another Resource Person Anthony Moses, Physical Education Director, Teresian College, highlighted that sports play a vital role in today’s life. One can acquire good health, spirit, enthusiasm, leadership and self-decision making skills through sports.
Chairman and Managing Trustee of the Institute of Education Trust H.N Nagaraj said that students should actively participate in cultural and sports activities to enhance their potential for future.
Dr. M. Puttaswamy, Managing Trustee of IET, emphasised that the ultimate goal of the education is to create good human being in the society.
Dr. M. Mahadevaiah, Principal, welcomed. Cash prizes were given to the meritorious students of BA, B.Com, BBA, BBM and M.Com on the occasion.
Prof. B. Sadashiv Bhat, Physical Education Director, presented the sports report while Dr. M. Girish Kumar, Assistant Professor, presented the annual report of Somani Sambhram – 2018. Dr. S.S Raje Urs, coordinated the programme.
Pavan S. Bhat rendered the invocation. Ullas and Dhathri Bharadwaj compered. P. Bhuvanashree proposed a vote of thanks.
