Mysuru: With garbage being piled up, blocked drains, rain water getting stagnant on roads as most of the storm water drains are clogged, Mysuru city, which is known as the ‘Heritage City’ is slowly turning into a ‘Dirty City.’
If one takes the footpath from the Varaha Gate of Mysore Palace towards Dasara Exhibition Ground, one has to walk very carefully without being distracted as most of the slabs and tiles placed on drains are broken at some places, while the stone slabs which was placed evenly has been displaced causing inconvenience to the public, pedestrians and scores of tourists who come to visit Mysore Palace.
One of the tourists, who spoke, said that though the Palace premises is kept neat and tidy, it is just the opposite outside, which really pained us. The tourist said that the authorities should take initiatives and maintain the surroundings of the Palace as lakhs of tourists visit Mysore Palace, one of the world’s famous monument.
