Mysore/Mysuru: The South India Zone Electricity Consumers’ Convention organised by All India Electricity Consumers’ Association (AIECA) will be held at Gandhi Bhavan located near Kumara Park East in Bengaluru on Oct. 26 from 10.30 am, said Association General Secretary K. Venugopal Bhat.
Addressing the mediapersons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here, Venugopal said the Convention would focus on opposing the privatisation of power sector, implementation of smart meters and 36 paise per unit surcharge.
He said the Convention would be inaugurated by Association President Swapan Gosh.
Social activist M.G. Devasahayam, Samyukta Krishi Morcha Convenor Vadde Shobhana Drishwararao, Tamil Nadu Power Engineers Society President S. Gandhi, Kerala Janakiya Prathirodha Samithi State Vice- President B. Dileepan will deliver speeches on the occasion.
Representatives from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana will be taking part in the Convention.
Association’s District Convenor V. Yashodhara, State Executive Committee Member M.N. Ranganath and others were present.
