Mysore/Mysuru: With the Election Commission of India (ECI) announcing the poll schedule for 6 Legislative Council seats (3 Teachers and 3 Graduates Constituencies), the Commission has allowed enrolment of new voters till May 6.
The ECI on Thursday said that the biennial election to the 6 Legislative Council seats in Karnataka, that will fall vacant by June 21, 2024, will take place on June 3 and the counting of votes will be taken up on June 6.
Accordingly, newly eligible electors of South Teachers Constituency that covers the districts of Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Hassan, can enroll in the voters list till May 6
As per the Constituency’s electoral rolls that was published last in Dec. 2023, there are 18,379 voters (10,355 men and 8022 women). Now this number may cross the 20,000 mark as fresh enrolments have been allowed till May 6.
The fresh enrolments will take place at the Mysuru Regional Commissioner’s Office, the Deputy Commissioner’s Offices, Tahsildar and Corporation/ Urban body offices in all the four districts coming under the Constituency.
