South Zone Critical Care Conference held in city

Mysuru: The South Zone Critical Care Conference (SZCC) – 2018 was held in city recently at Silent Shores Resorts. It was attended by 1,000 delegates from across India. Hands-on workshops were held for more than 300 delegates.

The Conference was inaugurated by chief guest Pramoda Devi Wadiyar by lighting the lamp. Addressing the gathering, she shared her experiences about critical care unit and the way doctors and paramedics work in the intensive care units.

She also released a souvenir on the occasion.

Dr. A.S. Anoop Kumar from Calicut shared his experiences during the floods and how the critical care doctors of Kerala helped the flood-affected victims and also the efforts to rehabilitate them.

Various Branches of ISCCM chapters from South India generously donated money for Kerala and Kodagu flood victims. The  cheques were handed over to Dr. Anoop Kumar.

As part of SZCC 2018, a panel discussion was held  on a sensitive subject, ‘End Of Life Care’ to raise awareness among the public. It was moderated by Dr. Gururaj and Dr. Vaidhyanathan.

The panellists were Swami Athmajnanandaji, Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama; Ravi, Legal Adviser; Dr. Balasubramaniam of SVYM; Dr. Shiv Iyer, Chennai; Dr. Pradeep Rangappa, Bengaluru and Dr. Nagesh Simha, Karunalaya – Bengaluru.
