South Zone Inter-University Cricket Tourney for Men: Kishan shines in Mysore University’s win

Inspiring allround-performance by Kishan S. Bedare (54 n.o & 3 for 22) and his unfinished 79-run third-wicket partnership with Vishnu Priyan (32 n.o) helped University of Mysore to register a eight-wicket win over University of Madras, Chennai and enter the pre-quarterfinals in South-zone Inter-University men’s cricket tournament, conducted by VTU at the JSS-SJCE grounds here on Thursday.

In fourth round, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, backed by some good batting performance by Yogesh Rajan 66 (67b, 6×4), registered a five-wicket win over Dr.B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam and entered pre-quarter-finals.

Fourth round: University of Madras, Chennai 116 in 23.4 overs (M.U. Mukilesh 53, Kishan Bedare three for 22, M.Utham Aiyappa two for 18, Yodhan Hrudhay two for 26) lost to University of Mysore 117 for two in 22.3 overs (Kishan Bedare 54 n.o, Vishnu Priyan 32 n.o., S.J. Nikin Jose 20).

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Srikakulam 170 in 24.1 overs (Rakesh Sanyasi 68, D. Hareesh Kumar 20, Sankarnarayanan two for 28, G.G. Gowthaman two for 28, Thanga Murugeshwar Pandiyan two for 19, Kishore Kumar two for 32) lost to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai 176 for five in 24.1 overs (Yogesh Rajan 66, Kishore Kumar 27, A. Anand Kumar two for 40).
