SP inaugurates hearing aid repair camp

Repairs to be done free of cost till Nov. 17

Mysuru: A hearing aid repair camp organised by the Department of Electronics, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police (SP) Ravi D. Channannavar here yesterday at the Institute premises.

Speaking after inaugurating the camp, he said that the Institute renders service not only in the city but also throughout the country. AIISH is like a temple especially for people from the low income and poor families.

Karnataka State Dr. Gangubhai Hanagal Music and Performing Arts University Registrar Prof. Niranjana Vanalli participating in the function as a guest said that such meaningful programmes would be very useful to the society. Lauding the efforts of the institute for this idea of repairing the hearing aids, he said that since there is a lot of wear and tear of the hearing aids, which is used daily, it is a good idea to repair them.

The repair camp, which began from yesterday, will be on till Nov. 17 from 10 am to 4 pm. The repairs will be done free of cost. Apart from this if any part is damaged in the hearing aid it will also be replaced free of cost. Some of the premium hearing aid companies have set up stalls.

AIISH Director Dr. S.R. Savithri, Department of Electronics Head Dr. Ajish K. Abraham and others were present.
