Mysore/Mysuru: A special lecture in memory of Prof. V.K. Natraj, who passed away last year, has been organised on Dec. 20 by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Research and Extension Centre, University of Mysore (UoM) and Dos in Economics and Co-operation at the Centre’s Vishwajnani auditorium, Manasagangothri campus at 11 am.
Distinguished Economist and Retired Professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Prof. Prabhat Patnaik will deliver the lecture titled “For a set of Constitutionally Guaranteed Fundamental Economic Rights.”
UoM VC Prof. N.K. Lokanath will release a book in memory of Prof. Natraj titled ‘Contemporary Development Debates in India,’ edited by Prof. Abdul Aziz and Prof. K. Gayathri.
Rameshwari Verma, former Director, Centre for Women Studies, UoM, will preside.
Prof. V.K. Natraj, a distinguished academic in the field of Economics and Development Studies, was associated with the Institute of Development Studies, UoM and was also former Director of Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai.
