Special lectures on Indian Constitution

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Parampare,’ a cultural organisation of Mysuru, is conducting special lectures on Indian Constitution as part of Constitution Day celebrations from Nov. 24 to 26 at K. Vasudevacharya Bhavan on  JLB Road from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Swami Veerashananda Saraswati, President, Ramakrishna – Vivekananda Ashram, Tumakuru, will speak on ‘Freedom of Expression’ on Nov. 24.

He has been conferred Honorary Doctorate by Tumkur University and ‘Ambassador of  Peace’ title by Universal Peace Foundation, USA.

Justice V. Shrishananda, sitting Judge of Karnataka High Court, will be delivering a lecture on ‘Importance of Preamble to Constitution’ on Nov.25.

 Novelist and research scholar G.B. Harisha will be delivering a lecture on National Anthem ‘Janaganamana…’ on Nov. 26.

‘Janaganamana…,’ which was written in 1911 a few days before the famous  Durbar of King George V in New Delhi, was included in prayer collection by Brahmo Samaj. This poem was subsequently selected as National Anthem while Vande Mataram was selected as  National song. There are very interesting facts about this song.

 On all the three days, prior to lecture, songs complimentary to the theme will be  presented.

On Nov.  24, H. Janardhan (Janni), former Director of Rangayana and troupe will sing poems.

On Nov. 25, Vidushi Mahalakshmi and troupe will present patriotic songs.

On Nov. 26, Vidushi Shubha  Rahavendra and her daughter Tanushree will render ‘Janaganamana’  and  ‘Vande Mataram’ in full along with other patriotic songs. The event is open to all. For details contact Mob: 99860-37311.
