Specially-abled persons to create awareness on organ donation

Mysore/Mysuru: To commemorate World Disabled Day, an awareness programme about organ donation has been organised tomorrow at 10 am near Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple premises. The programme is jointly organised by District Deaf Association, District Health and Family Welfare Department, Lions Club of Mysore, Nisarga Mysuru, Blind Association, Specially Abled Association, Mysuru District Journalists Association, BGS Apollo Hospitals and National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), said District Deaf Association President H.S. Murthy at press a conference held at Patrakartara Bhavan in the city yesterday.

“Specially-abled persons will register their names for organ donation to create awareness about organ donation among the general public. The registrations will be held on the spot. Donating organs of dead persons is the greatest possible service to mankind. Hence, everyone should join hands in this campaign,” appealed Murthy.

District Blind Association President T.V. Nagaraj, Deaf Association Vice-President Mahesh Varma, Lions Nisarga President Jayakumar, Leo Club President S.S. Ananya and BGS Apollo Hospital’s Dr. Praveen Chandrashekar were present.
