Mysuru: A speeding lady driver hit a motorcycle and killed a man while the person riding the bike was severely injured. The impact of the accident was so high that the pillion was thrown ten feet into the air. The incident occurred on Ring Road near Ramabai Nagar, last evening.
The victim is N.R. Mohalla resident Siddappaji (65) who died and the injured is Vijayanagar resident Ravi, 50. Friends Siddappaji and Ravi were moving towards Dadadahalli from Srirampura on the two-wheeler. As they reached a turn near the Railway under bridge, a speeding car coming from Bandipalya side hit the two-wheeler.
Both the injured were rushed to the nearby Panacea Hospital. As the treatment was not successful, Siddappaji who was thrown ten feet into the air died. Ravi’s legs were broken and he was admitted to the ICU, where he is undergoing treatment.
The woman who was driving the car abandoned it and fled from the spot along with her husband. The public clicked her picture and gave it to the Police. It is learnt that she is an Assistant Professor in one of the premier engineering colleges in the city.
The K.R. Police have registered a case.
