Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing the Union Government of looting people under the pretext of COVID-19 crisis, the SUCI (Socialist Unity Centre of India), as part of its Statewide ‘Janandolana’ agitation, will stage a demonstration at Bengaluru on Mar.19.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday, SUCI District Secretary B.Ravi said that spiralling prices of fuel and other essential commodities has severely burdened the common man, who is already reeling under loss of jobs and dwindling incomes due to COVID-19 crisis.
Claiming that the poor, middle and working classes are the worst sufferers of exponentially rising inflation, Ravi alleged that the Government was doing little to alleviate the problems of the common man.
Charging the Government of favouring only big corporates, he urged the Government to take immediate measures for stemming rising prices and to introduce more welfare measures for the poor and the working class.
Continuing, Ravi said that as part of the demonstration, a procession will be taken out on the morning of Mar.19 from KSR Bengaluru Railway Station to Freedom Park, where a massive rally will take place.
Trade Union leaders Umadevi, Chandrashekar Meti, Seema and others were present at the press meet.
