The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is celebrating Sri Krishna Janmashtami today (Aug. 25) and tomorrow (Aug. 26) at its centre in 18th Cross, Jayanagar. Celebrations, which began from 7.30 am, will continue until 11 pm today. Sri Krishna Balarama, the presiding Deities of ISKCON, will be bedecked in a special decoration for the occasion.
The special attraction during Janmashtami celebration is the elaborate Maha-abhisheka to Sri Krishna Balarama which begins at 10 pm on Monday (Aug. 26) and culminates with Maha Mangala Arati & Sankirtana at 12 midnight, coinciding with the time of Krishna’s birth. As part of Janmashtami celebrations, there will be Sangeetha Seva by various artistes throughout the day.
