The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is celebrating Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Aug. 19 at its centre in 18th Cross, Jayanagar. Celebrations will begin from early morning 4.30 am and continue until 1 am the next day. Sri Krishna Balarama, the presiding deities of ISKCON Mysuru, will be bedecked in a special decoration for the occasion.
Darshan timings will be from 7.30 am to 1 pm and 4.30 pm to 12 midnight. The special attraction during Janmashtami celebration is the elaborate Mahabhisheka to Sri Krishna Balarama which begins at 10 pm and culminates with Mahamangalarati and Sankirtana at 12 midnight, coinciding with the time of Krishna’s birth. As part of the Janmashtami celebrations, there would be Sangeetha Seva by various artistes throughout the day.
