Mysuru: The newly-constructed ‘Sri Mahadeshwara Bhavana’ of Sri Male Mahadeshwara Swamy Temple Trust at Lashkar Mohalla here was inaugurated recently by Sri Somanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Mysuru Branch.
Speaking on the occasion, the Swamiji lauded the Trust for good maintenance of the temple and organising religious rituals regularly. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji graced the occasion.
Former Minister C.H. Vijayashankar, Sir Khazi of Mysuru Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff, Littérateur Dr. S. Shivarajappa, Trust Honorary President M. Shivanna, President M.S. Ravikumar and others were present.
Puja rituals: Marking Karthika Maasa, special pujas for Mahadeshwara Swamy are being performed and will go on till Nov.19 everyday from 7 am. Troupes from city rendered folk songs on the inaugural evening.
Bhajans, Sugama Sangeetha and other cultural programmes have been organised daily at 6 pm.
Maharudrabhisheka will be performed on Nov.19 at 6 am. At 10 am, a ‘utsava’ of the presiding deity will be taken out through main thoroughfares of city accompanied by band and folk troupes.
