Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nuliya Chandaiah Jayanthi will be celebrated at a programme jointly organised by District Administration, Kannada and Culture Department and Sri Nu Nuliya Chandaiah Jayanthyotsava Samithi at Kalamandira premises in city on Aug. 12 at 12 noon.
District Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate. MLA L. Nagendra will preside. MPs Pratap Simha, V. Sreenivasa Prasad and Sumalatha Ambarish and In-charge Mayor Sunanda Palanetra will be chief guests. MLAs, Boards and Corporations Chairmen and Corporators will be present. Davanagere retired Deputy Commissioner S.T. Anjan Kumar will speak on the occasion. The stage programme will be followed by Geethagayana by Vid. Naveen and troupe.
Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Madhusudhan held a preliminary meeting recently with all the Taluk and City office-bearers and leaders of Korama Community at Kalamandira to discuss the preparations.
Journalist Mohan Raj said that the State Government has finally approved the celebration of Sri Nuliya Chandaiah Jayanthi throughout the State. “This is the result of 10 years of struggle by the Korama Community people. Nuliya Chandaiah is the deity of Korama Community,” he said and thanked Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on behalf of all the Community members for the approval.
Mysuru City Korama Samaja President Balraj, leaders Shivashankar, Shantraju, Mutturaj Periyapatna, Tejas, Manju, Ajay, Roopesh and others were present at the meeting.
