Mysore/Mysuru: Senior journalist M.S. Kashinath received Sri Shivarathreeshwara Media Award, instituted by JSS Mahavidyapeetha, at a function organised by Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) at Patrakarthara Bhavan in city this morning.
S. Puttasubbappa, Director of Finance Division, JSS Maha-vidyapeetha, presented the award and felicitated Kashinath and his wife Premakumari.
University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. N.K. Lokanath, who was the chief guest, said it is a matter of pride that Kashinath has been conferred with the prestigious award. “Kashinath has sincerely served the society as a journa-list for over 40 years and I congratulate him and wish that he will continue his service and bag more awards,” he added.
Observing that UoM and MDJA have a longstanding relationship, the VC said that UoM is associating with various activities of MDJA. The VC said that UoM will continue its association with MDJA and wished that Suttur Sri Kshetra will continue to recognise the services of journalists and honour them.
Kashinath started his career in Mysuru Mithra and Star of Mysore in 1982 and is now working as a senior reporter at Prajanudi. He has worked in many national Kannada dailies too.
