As part of the festival, Sangeeta Seva will be performed for the whole day. Several vocal and instrumental artistes will give their performances.
This auspicious day also coincides with Gita Jayanti, the day Bhagavad Gita was spoken by Krishna to Arjuna. To commemorate it, there will be recitation of entire 700 Shlokas of Bhagavad Gita from 2 pm to 5 pm.
According to Vedic scriptures and great acharyas, the world we live in is replete with Kunta or misery. Here, we are helplessly forced to suffer birth, disease, old-age and death. From powerful leaders to common men, no one can escape these miseries. Yet, the acharyas say, the human form of life is especially suitable for obtaining a permanent solution to these problems. In human form one can achieve the eternal world which is singularly characterised by complete absence of miseries. The Supreme Lord descends to this material world only to invite everyone to return to this eternal world called Vaikunta (World without Miseries).
It is said in Padma Purana that anyone who passes under Vaikunta Dwara on the day of Vaikunta Ekadashi with great faith and devotion, attains ‘Vaikunta.’
