Mysore/Mysuru: Marking the birth anniversary of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, the city’s Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Garadi Sangha will be organising a wrestling contest (Nadakusti contest) at Jayachamaraja Wadiyar wrestling arena in Dasara Exhibition ground premises here at 3 pm on Feb. 25.
Announcing this at a press meet here recently, Sangha General Secretary S. Mahadeva said that University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.K. Lokanath will inaugurate the tournament, while Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Foundation Trustee M. Lakshminarayan will preside.
A total of 57 pairs of wrestlers, including 6 women pairs, will be taking part in the tournament. Prizes will be distributed to the winners later in the evening.
A poster of the tournament was released at the press meet attended by Sangha President C. Basavaraju, Mahalingeshwara Temple Secretary G.N. Ananthavardhana and others.
