Mysore/Mysuru: The SSLC supplementary exam, conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Exam Board, began at 35 centres across the district, including 15 in the city this morning, with all COVID-19 precautionary and safety measures in place. Maths paper was held today on the first day.
The supplementary exam will end on Sept.28 with Kannada paper tomorrow (Sept.22), Social Science on Sept.23, Second Language paper on Sept.24, Third Language paper on Sept. 25 and Science on Sept.28. There will be no exam on Sept.26 and 27.
A total of 9,762 students (6,155 boys and 3,607 girls), most of them failed students and repeaters, are appearing for the exam in the district. All the students were required to undergo thermal screening, wear face masks and use hand sanitisers, besides maintaining physical distancing, according to DDPI Dr. Panduranga.
The 15 exam centres in the city include Rotary Brindavan School, Metagalli; Mathrumandali School, V.V.Mohalla; Government PU College for Girls, People’s Park in Nazarbad; Farooquia Boys School in Tilaknagar; Jnanaganga High School in Kuvempunagar and Srikanteshwara High School in K.N.Puram.
In order to ensure smooth conduct of the exam, the city Police have clamped prohibitory orders in 200 mts radius of all the exam centres from 6 am to 6 pm on all days of the exam. Accordingly, all photo copy shops in the vicinity of the exam centres were ordered to shut down during exam hours.
