Staff of aided Institutions threaten to stage protest on Jan.10

Mysuru: The Karnataka State Aided Educational Institutions Pension Deprived Staff Members Association has warned of staging a massive demonstration in Bengaluru on Jan.10, if it’s demand for pension is not met.

Addressing  a press meet here on Friday, Association District President Dr. Sharath Kumar said that a memorandum will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioners of all districts seeking pension to the staff of aided educational institutions, during which a deadline will be set.

Highlighting the plight of employees of aided institutions who are not covered by pension, Dr. Sharath Kumar claimed that Governments in other states does not discriminate between government employees and employees of aided educational institutions.

The Karnataka Government too should follow this model and grant pension to aided institutions employees, he urged.

He further said that the Association will hold a massive demonstration at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Jan.10, if the State Government ignores their plea for pension.
