Staging of play ‘Chama Cheluve’ at Vijayanagar Park on Jan. 26

Mysuru: Rangayaana Trust, Mysuru, will be staging the play ‘Chama Cheluve’ at a park in E-Block, Vijayanagar 3rd Stage, in city on Jan. 26 at 7 pm, under the aegis of Nele Hinnele.

The play, written by Dr. Sujata Akki and directed by Vikas Chandra, depicts an enthralling story of Mahishasura Mardhana and the tale of Nanjundeshwara and Chamundeshwari.

Music is scored by H. Nataraju and costumes by B.M. Ramachandra. R. Venugopal, Archana Hegde, S. Sushmitha, L. S. Manju, N.D. Abhishek, M.R. Nithish, B.R. Aditi Athreya, K.R. Saraswathi, K.J. Manu, K.R. Harshitha, S.G. Bhagyalakshmi, R. Chandru, M. Manoj, M.M. Anand, K. Manoj and Tejaswini P. Hegde are part of the performing team.

The Rangayaana troupe had recently staged ‘Chama Cheluve’ and ‘Soligara Baale’ at the two-day Kannada Drama Festival, organised by Vidya Vardhak Samiti, Kalwa, Thane, at Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The team is also known for its notable contributions to Kannada theatre through Festivals such as ‘Baala Rangotsava’ ‘Bharataranga’, ‘Hadi Kinnara Loka’, ‘Mussanje Rangotsava’ and ‘College Rangotsava.’ Some of its widely appreciated plays are ‘Bommana Halliya Kindarijogi’, ‘Angimyalangi’, ‘Purahara’, ‘Abhisheka’, ‘Seetaranya Pravesha’ and ‘Shabari.’
