Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment to tour Mysuru from July 8 to 10

Mysore/Mysuru: The Central Government’s Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment has scheduled its study tour of Mysuru district from July 8 to 10.  The Committee has convened a separate meeting of Officers of various Departments and Boards and Corporations, at Hotel Radisson Blu Plaza on M. G. Road in the city on July 10 from 9.30 am to11.30 am.

The meeting will discuss various schemes and programmes being implemented by Social Welfare Department, Scheduled Classes Welfare Department, Backward Classes Welfare Department, Minorities Welfare Department and Boards and Corporations under their ambit, student scholarships of SC, ST, Backward Classes and Minorities, programmes being implemented for the children of those community engaged in harmful and unhygienic works and rehabilitation of senior citizens, safaikarmacharis, third  gender and drug addicts.

According to a press release from the Joint Director of Social Welfare Department, the Standing Committee will discuss about the rehabilitation of Deen Dayal Divyangan Rehabilitation programme, establishment of Disabled Rehabilitation Centre, student scholarship, financial empowerment, skill development and disabled welfare measures among others.
