Mysuru: Karnataka State Biofuel Board Chairman Sudheendra, accompanied by Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister Dr. Vaishnavi along with other officials from the Biofuel Board, visited Mysuru District Biofuel Research Information and Demonstration Centre (BRIDC) at the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), in city recently.
Centre Coordinator Prof. Shamsundar along with staff and students, showcased several pilot projects developed by NIE, including Bio-CNG, carbon capture, biogas, biodiesel and other biofuel technologies.
Biofuel Board Chairman expressed his appreciation for the efforts of NIE -CREST, BRIDC team and engaged in discussions about implementing pilot biofuel, bio-CNG, carbon capture and microgrid projects across the State. Sudheendra showed great interest in the biofuel technologies being developed at NIE and emphasised his intent to scale them up for broader application.
During the visit, biodiesel was successfully injected into vehicles, further demonstrating the practical applications of the research. The interaction provided valuable inputs from the Chairman, which was crucial for the future development of the biofuel unit at NIE.
Head and Coordinator of BRIDC at NIE-CREST Prof. Shamsundar, expressed gratitude for the insights shared and reiterated NIE’s commitment to advancing sustainable biofuel technologies for the State.
