Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka State Construction Workers Central Association President P. Raju said that the Government is mulling on introducing new plans for the welfare of labourers and workers after the completion of survey to identify fake labourers.
He was speaking at the Association’s Executive Committee Meeting held at Jaladarshini Guest House here recently.
Pointing out that the Association had appealed Labour Minister Santosh Lad to take action against fake labourers, Raju said that he told the Minister that fakeness can be identified by getting the Aadhaar Card of all members of labourer/ worker families.
“The Minister has suspended giving financial support to children of eligible labourers due to the rampant menace of fake workers. The number of beneficiaries at the start was 25.30 lakh. But this figure has now suddenly crossed 50 lakh. The Association, after getting a new body, will meet the Chief Minister and the Labour Minister and apprise them of the problems of the working class,” he said.
