Mysore/Mysuru: As a prelude to Mahisha Dasara celebrations scheduled at Chamundi Hill in city on Oct. 13, a one-day State-level seminar on the topic ‘Mahisha Mandalada Adi Dore Mahishasura; Ondu Charithrika Nota’ (The King of Mahisha Mandala Mahishasura: A Historical Look) is organised on Sept. 10 at 10 am at University College of Fine Arts, Manasagangothri in city.
Former Mayor Purushotham of Mahisha Dasara Acharana Samiti told media persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan in the city yesterday that former Minister and writer B.T. Lalitha Naik will inaugurate the seminar organised by the Samiti along with University of Mysore Research Scholars Association.
Jnanaprakash Swamiji of Urilingi Peddi Mutt of Mysuru will grace the event. Retired Professor B.P. Mahesh Chandra Guru will preside. Senior journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar and littérateur Prof. Arvinda Malagatti will be the chief guests.
The seminar will have two sessions — the first session from 12.30 pm to 2 pm to be presided by writer Prof. K.S. Bhagawan and the second session from 2.30 pm to 4 pm to be presided by historian Prof. P.V. Nanjaraje Urs.
Writer Krishnamurthy Chamaram, Siddu Swamy, Chikkandani, Journalist Somaiah Maleyur, Vishakanta, Nanjundaswamy and Krishnaprasad were present at the press meet.
