Mysore/Mysuru: The first State-level mid-day meal workers conference will take place at Gururaja Kalyana Mantapa near Race Course in Bengaluru on Oct.13.
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, AIUTUC State President K.V. Bhat said the conference will take place at 10.30 am in which thousands of mid-day meal workers from across the State will take part.
The conference will press the Government for fulfillment of various demands including minimum wages, Constitutional benefits such as EPF, ESI etc., issuance of ID cards and Gratuity of Rs.5 lakh to mid-day meal workers, he said adding that the meet will also discuss other issues such as attempts to close down thousands of Government Schools in the name of merger, anti-labour policies of the Government and consideration of mid-day meal workers as Government servants, among others.
The posters of the convention were released on the occasion.
AIUTUC office-bearers H.S. Harish, P.S. Sandhya, Devamani, Madhumati, Prema and others were present at the press meet.
