Mysuru: The 25th State-level National Children’s Science Congress will be held in city from Nov.29 to Dec. 1.
The three-day Congress will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah at Senate Bhavan in Manasagangothri, said District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa.
He said that Seminars and Science Model exhibition will be held at different auditoriums in Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) campus.
Nearly, 1,500 children and 300 teachers with 100 teachers as judges will participate, he said and asked the departments concerned to provide proper food and accommodation to the participants.
Dr. Mahadevappa said that Rs. 30 lakh grant had been fixed for the Congress and directed the Deputy Commissioner to form different committees and appoint officials to head them.
Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishat (KRVP) President Shivaprakash said that the children who are participating in the State-level Congress have already been selected after they had participated in the taluk and district level programmes. From every District ten teams with five students each will participate.
The students in the age group of 10 to 14 and 14 to 18 years both from rural and urban areas will be divided into four groups and the Congress will be conducted in four separate stages. Those selected at the State-level will be sent to participate in the National Children’s Science Congress at Ahmedabad.
