Mysuru: Two-day State-level T10 Cricket Tournament for Blind will be held at JSS-SJCE Grounds and Railway Grounds from Nov. 4, said Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, Operations Head Shivaram S. Deshpande.
Addressing media persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Deshpande said that the tournament, jointly organised by Samarthanam Trust and Karnataka Cricket Association for the Blind, will be inaugurated by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar at JSS-SJCE Grounds on Nov. 4 at 7.30 am.
Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) Chairman Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar, CABI President Buse Gowda, Mysuru Kalyan Mantap Owners Association President S. Murthy and others will be present on the occasion.
A total of 12 teams, comprising 180 cricketers, will take part in the tournament in which a total of 15 matches will be played. The matches will commence at 8 am on both the days. This tourney is also an opportunity for the visually impaired cricketers to knock on the doors of the selectors to represent the State in the Nagesh Trophy, a National-level Tournament and represent India in the Blind Cricket World Cup to be held in Pakistan.
S. Murthy, Chandrakanth Singh, Srinivas and Jayakumar were present at the press meet.
