Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru District Weightlifters Association, Physical Education Teachers Academy Trust and SBRR Mahajana FGC, Department of Physical Education under the aegis of Karnataka State Weightlifters Association will be jointly organising a two-day State Level Weightlifting Championship at SBRR Mahajana College Auditorium in Jayalakshmipuram from tomorrow (Aug. 17).
Addressing the press persons at the Pathrakarthara Bhavan District Weightlifters Association President Dr.C.Krishna said Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Pushpa Raj Hegde and State Weightlifters Association President Dr. P. Dayananda Pai will inaugurate the championship at 10 am tomorrow and the valedictory would be held on Aug. 18 at 4 pm.
Indian Weightlifting Federation Secretary General S.H. Anande Gowd a, Karnataka Weightlifters Association Working President Shyamala Shetty, Journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar, District Weightlifters Association Hon. President Dr. K. Sowmya Erappa and Mahajana Education Society CEO Dr. S.R. Ramesh will be the guests of honour. SBRR Mahajana FGC Principal Dr. B.R. Jayakumari and MPower Talk Founder Kishore Rachaiah will be the special invitees.
Industrialist P. Suresh Alva and Ball Badminton Federation of India Secretary General Dinesh will distribute the trophies to winners during the valedictory ceremony.
More than 350 weightlifters from various districts will be taking part in the championships.
