Mysuru: ‘Sthree Himsa Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ organised by Mysuru Branch of Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) was held at its branch premises in city recently.
The programme was aimed at sensitising people on prevention of atrocities against women, gender-based violence, female foeticide, male harassment and other issues. Speaking after inaugurating the programme, FPAI Adhoc Committee Member Dr. Mylahalli Revanna stressed the importance of educating women, their empowerment and self-employment activities.
Branch Manager Bijimole welcomed. A rangoli competition was also held on the theme ‘Gender-based violence and female foeticide.’ Oath was administered to women to fight for equal rights followed by a signature campaign.
