Pack of dogs causing fear among walkers

Mysuru: A pack of stray dogs is creating panic among morning and evening walkers at Kukkarahalli Lake. Walkers are seen taking a stroll with sticks and stones in their hands to shoo the dogs away as they fear of getting bitten by the dogs.

Kukkarahalli Lake is visited by people of all ages including senior citizens, students and children for morning and evening walks daily as the Lake provides a soothing environment.

But the pack of dogs has instilled fear among the walkers, who are risking of getting bitten by them during their walks.

Walkers said that the dogs chase them and if they do not hold sticks or stones, it is guaranteed that the dogs will bite them. It has become impossible to walk in peace without the fear of getting bitten, they added.

They alleged that the MCC has failed in controlling the population of stray dogs, which are seen foraging for food near garbage dumps and at places where canteens and food joints throw wastes and leftover food. These dogs attack those passing by besides creating panic. Walkers have urged authorities concerned to take steps to control the stray dogs menace.
