Stray dogs menace at Govt. Ayurveda Hi-Tech Hospital

Sir,

This is to bring to your attention the issue of stray dogs at the Karnataka Government Ayurveda Hi-Tech Hospital, Brindavan Extension, KRS Road, Mysuru.

Recently, I visited the hospital for treatment and was advised by Dr. Roopa L. Gowda, a senior doctor, to stay on the premises for eight days for Panchakarma treatment.

Being a local resident, I parked my two-wheeler in the hospital’s parking area. The following day, I discovered that my scooter’s seat cover had been completely torn and damaged. Upon questioning the security guard, I was informed that stray dogs are responsible for this damage during the night.

I observed that there are over 25-30 stray dogs in the hospital premises, particularly in the two-wheeler parking lot. These dogs not only damage vehicles but also instil fear among the hospital visitors, including senior citizens, patients, women and children.

The security guard mentioned that children, women and senior citizens are particularly afraid to visit the parking lot alone due to the threat posed by these stray dogs. He further stated that, despite his complaints to the hospital authorities and his security agency, who reportedly contacted the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), the issue remains unresolved.

I hope prompt action will be taken by the authorities concerned to address and resolve this issue to ensure the safety and security of all hospital visitors.
