Sir,
It has been one year of my taking up residence in the city of Mysuru. In this period I have observed a certain lack of interest in road safety and security by both the authorities and citizens of this beautiful city. One of them is the street-lights not being switched ON during dark hours on the Ring Road stretches.
Due to higher traffic inside the city, many commuters use the Ring Road, albeit farther, and the least the city administration can do is provide them with safe passage.
Imagine a lone working woman who may have a vehicle breakdown in the dark places along the Ring Road stretch?
To further complicate this, the Ring Road is also barricaded in most places which makes all vehicles bottleneck at high speeds around them, resulting in fatal accidents.
I hope this will draw the attention to the authorities concerned to act pro-actively and protect the citizen’s lives.
