Students demand speed-breaker in front of Kuvempu Statue on Bogadi Road

Mysuru:  The Bogadi Road in front of the Kuvempu Statue at the south gate entrance of Manasagangothri campus has been repaired and with road medians put, it is really wide. However, every day hundreds of vehicles pass on this road at great speed which results in minor accidents.

Hence, the students and employees of Manasagangothri have urged the authorities concerned to put up two road humps (speed breakers) on either sides.

The majority of the students, teachers and staff use the entrance from the Kuvempu Statue side, while in the other two gates near the SJCE campus and the road leading to Hunsur Road, the traffic is comparatively less.

The problem arises for the vehicles entering and exiting Manasagangothri from Kuvempu Statue side due to the density of the traffic and everyone is forced to have their hearts in their mouth to escape the tragedy that may occur.

Recently a girl student met with an accident when a vehicle hit her and again on Sunday (Feb.24) a few minor accidents have occurred. Hence, the students, staff and parents have urged for road humps and also traffic signals to cut down speed.
