Mysuru: The M.P.Ed (Master of Physical Education) and B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) students of University of Mysore (UoM) staged a demonstration in front of the Crawford Hall here on Thursday, accusing an Educational Trust of running M.P.Ed course in violation of rules.
Alleging that a Pandavapura-based Educational Trust was conducting M.P.Ed course unauthorisedly, the protestors maintained that such violations will bring down the dignity of the course itself.
Accusing the Trust of admitting over-aged and in-service candidates who do not fall under admission quota, they alleged that running M.P.Ed course during summer holidays with little practical classes will only lower the value of the course, besides hurting the prospects of hundreds of students who are attending regular classes run by the University. They urged the authorities to act against the Trust and withdraw the affiliation granted to it by the University.
M.P.Ed students Amaregowda, N. Anand, H.K. Arpita, M. Ashok, J.S. Ashwini and others took part in the protest.
