Mysore/Mysuru: Stating that sports is an essential part of life just like education and spirituality, Suyog Hospital Founder Dr. S.P. Yoganna said that a perfect confluence of the three would help a student become ‘Vishwamanava,’ a concept advocated by Rashtrakavi Kuvempu.
He was speaking as chief guest at the second edition of student run organised under the joint aegis of Hari Vidyalaya, Suyog Hospital and other organisations at Hari Vidyalaya premises in Bogadi here recently.
Observing that parents should advise their wards on the importance of taking part in sports, Dr. Yoganna highlighted the role of parents and Physical Education (PE) teachers in making students take part in sports and other extra-curricular activities.
Hari Vidyalaya Secretary H.R. Bhagavan said he was extremely delighted about the number of participants for the run this year. He sought co-operation of everyone for ensuring the success of the run, which is held annually.
Vidyalaya PE Director Srikant, faculty and others were present.
