‘Study and hunger for learning essential to become a scholar’

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Students must never be satisfied when it comes to acquiring knowledge. Study and hunger to learn knowledge of ‘Shastras’ are essential to become a scholar. Students must make continuous efforts to expand the spheres of their knowledge by studying, referring and perusal of various books,” opined Udupi’s Sri Bhandarakeri Mutt Pontiff Sri Vidyeshateertha Swamiji.

He was speaking at ‘Vidwat Sabha,’ a function jointly organised by Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt and Sri Vyasatheertha Vidyapeeta, at Mutt’s premises in Krishnamurthypuram in city recently in connection with the ‘Sriman Nyaya Sudha Mangala Mahotsav Examinations.’ 

“Studying only for examination is one stage of achievement. But studying the writings of Acharya Madhva must become an inseparable activity of your life. The messages of Acharya Madhva are guiding lights for all time.  Study of ‘Sriman Nyaya Sudha,’ a collection which provides a gist of all Acharya Madhva writings and ‘Tatva Chandrika’ written by Sri Vyasatheertha will greatly help in the overall development of students,” added Sri Vidyeshateertha Swamiji.

Lauding Sosale Sri Vidyashreesha Teertha Swamiji for disseminating  and in promoting  learning of ‘Shastras,’ Sri Vidyeshateertha Swamiji said that the Sosale Swamiji has taught Shastras to hundreds of students. “Now, he has successfully converted four students as ‘Sriman Nyaya Sudha’ pundits and has made an immense contribution to the society,” concluded Sri Vidyeshateertha Swamiji.

Bengaluru’s Bhuvanagiri Ashram’s Sri Suvidyendra Teertha Swamiji, who spoke at the function blessed students that their fame rise to greater heights. Admar Mutt’s Sri Vishwapriya Teertha Swamiji opined there is nothing bigger than knowledge and advised students to work hard to attain Vidwat which will get them wealth and happiness in future.

Uttaradi Mutt’s Sri Satyatmateertha Swamiji, student Pranava Acharya, answered queries about Sriman Nyaya Sudha Tatparya Chandrika and Nyayamrutha works.

Senior scholar Haridas Bhat, Vice-Chancellor of Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha, Mumbai, Vidyasimhacharya Mahuli, Principal of Bengaluru Vidyapeeta Vidhyaadheesha Acharya Guttala, Pandit Pralhadacharya, Matraishwacharya, D.P. Ananthacharya, D.P. Madhsudhanacharya, Dr. Srinidhi Pyati and others were present.
