Mysuru: Boppanda Diya Bheemaiah of Kodagu has been selected to represent Karnataka State in the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise 36th Sub-Junior National Badminton Championships being held in Chennai from Oct. 20 to Oct. 25.
Diya is representing the State in girls singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches in the U-17 category. She will be seen in action with Amit Raj Natraj of Mysuru in mixed doubles and P. Varna (TN) in the girls doubles.
Diya, who is ranked No. 1 in the State, is a student of Vidyashrama College in Mysuru. She is being coached by Medura Arun Pemmaiah and Boppanda Bheemaiah.
A native of Dechur in Madikeri, Diya is the daughter of Boppanda Kusuma and Boppanda Bheemaiah couple.
