Mysore/Mysuru: Horticulture Department has invited applications from the farming community for granting subsidy under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY). In an effort to promote installation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, for up to a maximum of 5 acres of land, subsidy will be provided for each family of the beneficiary and for vegetables and commercial flower cultivation for up to a maximum of 2 acres of land.
Except for coffee, tea, rubber and palm crops, subsidy will be provided for cultivation of all other horticultural crops. Farmers of all categories who have adopted drip and sprinkler irrigation are eligible to get 90 percent subsidy. Priority will be given to those following mixed cropping methods, small-scale farmers and women farmers.
