SUCI protests against hike in fuel prices

Mysore/Mysuru: Condemning the recent hike in petrol and diesel prises by the State Government, members of Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) staged a protest in front of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue in the Town Hall premises here recently.

The protesters, who assembled in front of the statue, held placards, shouted slogans against the State Government and expressed their anger. The protesters said that the Congress Government, which came to power following assurances to put brakes to increasing prices during the BJP rule, had failed to keep up the assurances.

The protesters also held the Central Government responsible for hike in petroleum products by imposing more tax and collecting crores of rupees in revenue.

Pointing out that the State and Central Governments were involving in mud-slinging on each other, forgetting the problems faced by the common man and also failing to control hike in prices.

District Committee Secretary B. Ravi, Members M. Umadevi, Chandrashekar Meti, V. Yashodhara, P.S. Sandhya, Seema, Harish, Sunil, Basavaraju and others were present.
