Mysuru: Unable to repay the loans he had taken, a man, addicted to alcohol, who had poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire in a bid to end his life on Aug. 14 and admitted to K.R. Hospital here, breathed his last yesterday after failing to respond to the treatment.
The man has been identified as Raju (42), a resident of Choranahalli village in the taluk.
According to the complaint lodged by his wife, Raju was addicted to alcohol and had taken loans from many people who began to demand for the repayment of their money. Unable to bear the harassment, Raju committed suicide, the complaint said.
Alanahalli Police have registered a case and are investigating.
