Mysuru: A farmer, who had consumed poison on Aug. 1 in his field and was admitted to K.R. Hospital here, breathed his last on the night of Aug. 4 at the hospital after failing to respond to the treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Puttaiah (86), son of late Basavaiah and a resident of Harohalli village in the taluk.
Puttaiah, who had taken loans for cultivation had failed to repay the loans, which forced him to take the extreme step.
Jayapura Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
