Mysuru: Commemorating the 30th anniversary of Surabhi Gana Kala Mandira, Mysuru, a function titled ‘Thrimshathyutsava’ as part of Surabhi Sambharama-30, was organised at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city last evening.
Speaking as the chief guest, Music Scholar Dr. R.S. Nandakumar expressed happiness that every year, the city was contributing young musicians eventually up holding the cultural tag of city.
He commended senior artiste Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar leading Surabhi Gana Kala Mandira in training young musicians.
A Compact Disc ‘Hariyannarasida Vaniteyaru’ comprising songs of women composers was released on the occasion.
Vinay Sharva of Bengaluru presented a Classical music concert. He was accompanied by Mattur Srinidhi on violin, B.R. Prashanth on mridanga and S. Manjunath on ghata.
Industrialist and art patron K.V. Murthy inaugurated the programme. Ananya organisation Founder Dr. R.V. Raghavedra and others were present.
